I have taught in the USD 381 school
district since 1968. . I graduated from DCCC and FHSU. I have
taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades here in Spearville and at
Windthorst when that school was still open. I am currently teaching
3rd grade. I also attended grade school and high school
in Spearville, so you can see I have been here next to forever. I
am married to Ervin Burkhart, who works for the High Plains Journal
in Dodge City. I have one daughter, Jennifer Clark, who is married
and lives with her husband Bob, three year old daughter, Camryn and
17 year old son Matt in Topeka, Kansas. Jennifer works for the
Topeka Capital Journal as an Online editor. I find I am really
enjoying being a grandma. Erv and I make a lot of trips to Topeka
to see our sweet little girl! I like to go to auctions and read
when I have time. I am a member of the Spearville Teachers
Association (STA) and KNEA as well as Secretary/Treasurer of STA
for a number of years.
