Kerri Clarkson

Art and Yearbook

December 05, 2005

Hello, I'm Mrs. Clarkson and welcome to my web page. I have enjoyed teaching art at Spearville since 2003. My family lives in Dodge City where my two daughters, Melissa and Rachel attend Dodge City High School. My husband, Jerry, is the pastor of the Dodge City Family of Friends Church.

I've had the opportunity to live in several different places including Nevada, Idaho, Oregon, Costa Rica, and Bolivia, South America. Prior to coming to Southwest Kansas, my family served as missionaries for the Evangelical Friends Church in La Paz, Bolivia. While in Bolivia I learned to speak Spanish, and I home schooled our girls from Kindergarten through seventh grade. I bring to the classroom a wide variety of experiences, and I am delighted in sharing them with my students during class.

I attended High School in Winnemucca, Nevada and graduated in art education from Nouthwest Nazarene University. My interests are cooking, painting, traveling, reading and seeing good movies. My biggest interest of course is my family. Together we spend a lot of time volunteering at our church, teaching our girls to drive, and encouraging their interests and talents. I feel that the skills I've learned in being both a good parent and an good teacher to my own girls have helped me to be a good teacher and mentor to my students in Spearville. I receive great joy from teaching, especially teaching art to the students in Spearville.
