Warren Robbins

5-12 Band & 6 Choir

By Yvonna Schneider

December 05, 2005

Hi, my name is Warren Robbins and I teach grades 5 through 12 instrumental music, music appreciation and guitar, and sixth grade choir. I was born and raised in La Junta, Colorado. I graduated from La Junta High School in 1967. (yes, I am old) I attended Otero Junior College for
2 years and then transferred to the University of Colorado at Boulder. I graduated from CU in December of 1972. After teaching for 3 years I decided to try something new so I went to work for Gibson's Discount Centers and worked for them for 15 years. After that I became a route salesman for Frito-Lay Inc.. I worked for Frito-Lay for right at 10 years. Thats when after 25 years out of education, I finally got back to what I really enjoy. I absolutely love the kids and want to teach them as much about music as I possibly can.

My family consists of my wife of 30 wonderful years, Janice. I have two daughters, Crystal and Amber, and a son Derek. Crystal is married to Derek Ackerman and they live in Washington State.
Amber is still single, but has a boyfriend and teaches special ed at Northwest Elementary in Dodge City. My son Derek is working and still trying to find out what he really wants to do in life.
We have lots of dogs and cats, a fish, and a chincilla. My hobbies are trying to keep the house from falling apart, photography, family, and of course getting to play music now and then.
