Hi! Welcome to my page. My name is Dawn Miller. This is my second year at Spearville.
I’m looking forward to working with the middle school students again this year. I’m also in the process of planning a wedding. It’s an exciting year for me!
I grew up not to far from here in Hays, KS. Graduating from Hays High School in 2000, I set off for K-State intending to teach high school Chemistry due to a highly inspirational Chemistry teacher that I had. I soon realized I enjoyed the younger students much more and came back to Fort Hays State University to major in Elementary Education. I graduated from Fort Hays in December of 2004 with my B.S. in Elementary Education. I spent some time substitute teaching in a middle school before I found my first teaching job as a resource room teacher. I found it wasn’t a good fit for me (Bless those special education teachers!) and now I’m here in Spearville. I’m one of the middle school cheerleading sponsors and, along with Mrs. Tenbrink, the freshman class sponsor.
Outside of the classroom, my passion is books. I enjoy reading and almost anything to do with science, especially forensic science. I also like to dance (I took lessons for 20 years), draw, write, crochet, and outdoor activities.
