JH Volleyball Opens Season in Ingalls

The Junior High Volleyball team started off their season playing at Ingalls. With A and C team winning the B team lost. “The girls were nervous, but handled the pressure very well,” said Coach Kolbeck. Their second game was at home against Kiowa County. All three JH Lancers teams ended with a win. B –team went into three sets. Their first set was 25-19, the second was 15-25, then they rallied back to win the last set 26-24. A- team won their match in two sets, 25-10 and 25-22. The C team played after the A team and won in two sets, 15-11 and 15-13. Then the JH Volleyball team traveled to Protection to play South Central. The C team played first and won against South Central 25-20 and 21-5. The next to play was the B team. They went into three sets, 25-12, 19-25, and 15-25; it was a tough battle but the Lancers ended up losing. Then the A team took the court going into three sets also. They had a rough start losing their first game 17-25, then battled back and won the second set 25-20. Then they went into the third set losing 20-25. “It was rough at the beginning, but there were a lot of good things that can come out of this loss,” said Coach Kolbeck. “Our team needs to build on what happened and work harder to improve.”
The JH Volleyball team plays Thursday, September 22nd at home.
