New Interim Superintendent
Launch the media gallery 1 playerThe USD 381 Board of Education has named Dr. Nathan Reed as Interim Superintendent, effective July 1. Dr. Reed brings extensive experience in educational leadership, having previously served as superintendent in Winfield USD 465 and Fairfield USD 310, along with a strong background in school administration and instructional leadership.
The Board has been actively engaged in a superintendent search process with support from ESSDACK Executive Director Dr. Chad Higgins. Due to a highly competitive and limited candidate pool across Kansas, the Board has chosen a thoughtful approach focused on ensuring stability and strong leadership for the 2026–2027 school year.
Dr. Reed’s experience and deep understanding of Kansas schools make him well-positioned to guide the district during this transition. The Board plans to resume a comprehensive search for a permanent superintendent later this fall, with continued support from ESSDACK, to help identify the best long-term fit for USD 381.
