The Spearville USD 381 Board of Education, in partnership with ESSDACK and Greenbush, is conducting a comprehensive search for its next Superintendent of Schools. This process is designed to identify a visionary, ethical, and collaborative leader who will advance student achievement and organizational excellence while upholding the values of the Spearville community.

Position Overview: Superintendent of Schools
The Superintendent of Schools serves as the district’s chief executive officer, providing visionary and ethical leadership to advance student achievement and organizational excellence. Reporting directly to the Board of Education, the Superintendent oversees instructional programs, personnel, finances, and district operations, ensuring compliance with all state and federal requirements.

Key Responsibilities
The Superintendent will:
● Provide leadership in the implementation of Board policies and district priorities
● Serve as the primary advisor to the Board of Education, ensuring clear and effective communication
● Oversee district budgeting and financial stewardship, including responsible long-term planning
● Lead instructional improvement efforts and guide district-wide initiatives
● Foster positive, productive relationships with staff, students, families, and community partners
● Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
● Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing public education

Desired Qualifications
Qualified candidates will demonstrate:
A Master’s degree in Educational Leadership or Administration
Valid Kansas Superintendent licensure or eligibility
Successful leadership experience as a superintendent, assistant superintendent, or principal
Demonstrated knowledge of school finance, with experience or skills in budgeting and resource management
Experience in organizational leadership and program evaluation
A commitment to collaboration, transparency, and student-focused decision-making

Anticipated Hire Date: May 18, 2026
Contract Begins: July 1, 2026
